(Recently) at about 3 p.m., I witnessed a most amazing thing. While waiting at the red light on Main Street and the Beeline eastbound a young Department of Public Safety trooper in full uniform and in a nice patrol sedan accelerated away from the intersection northbound just behind the car first in line.
As he passed, I was amazed to see that he was texting on his cell phone looking down at the screen, both hands on the phone and thumbs flying. Neither hand was on the steering wheel, nor were his knees in play that I could see.
Well, lo and behold, that cruiser tracked as true and as straight as if it were being guided by an unseen entity. It didn’t even hit the car in front of it.
I’m thinking this young officer truly has a guardian angel resting on his shoulder. Thank you, Lord, for watching over this young man. Amen.

Question of the week
Do you think new Principal Anna Van Zile has a valid idea in eliminating the Asst. Principal and replacing it with an Athletic Director position that would share her duties as Principal?
