Senior residents of Star Valley now have transportation service on Wednesdays instead of Monday thanks to an agreement between the Town of Star Valley and the Payson Senior Citizens Center. There is a $10 registration fee, but then there is no charge for rides between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The Town of Star Valley has contracted with the Payson Senior Citizens Center to provide ridership services for Star Valley seniors.
The transportation program will start in June.
The day of pick-up is changing from Monday to Wednesdays. Every Wednesday, starting in June, a handicapped-accessible van will pick up participants at their doors between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., take them to their destinations in both Star Valley and Payson and return them home.
There is no charge for the service.
To participate, come to the Star Valley Town Hall, located next to Star Vale Park, or call (928) 472-7752 for a ridership application. Return the application and pay a $10 registration fee.
Once registered, participants can call the Senior Center at (928) 474-4876 to schedule their ride. When the center’s driver shows up, participants must show their registration card.
