Payson Women’s Golf Association President Karen Peterson is on a tear.
In a May 19 “throw out three holes” formatted tournament at Payson Golf Course, Peterson tied Susan Torrens for first place in flight 1 and also was a closest-to-the-pin prize money winner.
Two weeks earlier in a low net tournament, Peterson tied Shari Cody for first and again was a closest-to-the-pin champion.
“It has been a good month,” Peterson said.
Also shining in the May 5 showdown was Jan Burns who took first in flight 2. Mary Cain was second.
Jeannie Griffin won flight 3 laurels and Alesha Calderwood was second.
Shari Cody was a closest-to-the-pin champ along with Peterson.
On May 12, members gathered at
Payson Golf Course for a “Ones Game” formatted tournament. In flight 1, Lois Judd was first, Kelly O’Neill second and Joyce Goff third.
Mary Cain was top gun in flight 2, with Mary Jones taking second. In flight 3, Claudia Bullard took first over runner-up Earlene Brewer and Calderwood was the bronze medalist.
O’Neill and Judd were closest-to-the-pin champs.
In the May 19 links clash, Bullard took first in flight 2 dueling silver medalist Sharon Vaplon. Marilyn Schaal won flight 3 over Karol Uptain. Vaplon and O’Neill were closest-to-the-pin medalists.
