It is that time of the year! The summer people are coming back and it’s time to start playing cards at the Bruce Thompson Memorial Dining Room in Pine, located behind the Community Center Thrift Store on Highway 87.

In addition to card games, the center has meals. The lunch menu for the week of May 26-29: Tuesday, May 26, chicken-fried steak; Wednesday, May 27, roast beef; Thursday, May 28, Reuben sandwich; Friday, May 29, cod. All lunches include salad bar, beverage, main dish, veggies, potatoes, rice or pasta, and sometimes dessert for only $4. Reservations are requested a day in advance, call (928) 476-2151. Diners may also have just the salad bar for $2.50.

Card games start at 1 p.m., June 1 following lunch. The schedule of games:
