Jazz concert celebrates Flag Day

Pianist Paul Penning will be among the gang of local jazz artists celebrating American composers at the June 14 jazz concert at the Payson Community Presbyterian Church
The Payson Friends of Jazz will host A Celebration of American Composers at its next concert, slated for 2 p.m., Sunday, June 14 — Flag Day.
The concert will feature a great collection of local artists and others and feature American military, rag, Broadway, swing and modern jazz.
The featured artists at the June 14 event are: Paul Penning, piano; Jennifer Baltz, vocals; John Shevlin, piano; Dave Ihlenfeld, piano and tuba; Ken Taylor, brass horns; Bob Willocks, string bass; and Gerry Reynolds, drums.
The concert is at the Payson Community Presbyterian Church, 800 W. Main St.
A $5 donation at the door is requested to help defray expenses and American flags and red, white and blue attire is welcome.
