Last year, five organizations including: Kiwanis, Payson High School Drama Club and Student Government (STUGO), Rim Country Optimists and Rotary sponsored a Lip Sync contest. Thanks to ticket sales, silent auction items, and the 50/50 raffle, approximately $30,000 was given in scholarships to local high school students.
This same group of organizations is hosting the Lip Sync concert on Feb. 27, 2010. Once again there will be $1,000 in prizes. Center for Success already has two groups that are starting to plan their entries.
Now is the time for high school students to sign up. If needed, there will be coaches available to help students prepare and get ready.
Now is the time for our potential audience to put Feb. 27 on their calendar. I promise you a fun evening and in turn, students will have advanced schooling support. Scholarships are for all high school students and for all types of advanced or further education.
We have recently lost a coach because of family illness, so if you are experienced with stage performance and would like to help, please volunteer. I can be contacted at 472-2264 for more information about the Optimist Club and/or the Lip Sync concert.

Question of the week
Do you think new Principal Anna Van Zile has a valid idea in eliminating the Asst. Principal and replacing it with an Athletic Director position that would share her duties as Principal?
