Name: Judy Perham
School and subjects taught: Payson Elementary and Frontier Elementary physical education
College degree and major: BA in physical education from NAU; master’s in human relations and counseling from NAU.
Years teaching: 20 years
Why do you teach? I love kids of all ages and want to make a positive difference in their lives.
Personal motto / words of wisdom: “Live your life so the preacher won’t have to lie at your funeral!”
Family: My husband Steve and I have been married for 30 years. We have two wonderful children, a lovely daughter-in-law, and an awesome grandson.
Pet peeve: Cutting the amount of quality physical education that children receive at a time when childhood obesity is high.
Favorite hobby or leisure activity: Serving the Lord with my family.
Person in history you’d most like to meet and why: Jesus, but I can wait a few more years, Lord willing!
Why Payson? We moved to Payson 25 years ago because my husband was offered a job in surveying. We stayed because it has been a wonderful place to raise our family, open a business and serve the Lord.
What was your favorite subject in school and why? Physical education of course; Math was a close second!

Question of the week
Do you think new Principal Anna Van Zile has a valid idea in eliminating the Asst. Principal and replacing it with an Athletic Director position that would share her duties as Principal?
