A special thank you to the Red Elephant, When Cowboys Dream, Main Street Mercantile, Old Town Pawn & Gun, The Boutique, Wild Brush Gallery, Galarneau’s Gems & Rock Shop, Payson Candle Factory and the Sugar Shack for opening their doors to The Wagon Wheel Territory’s first Tasting Competition Oktoberfest that was held Oct. 23, 24 and 25.

The Rim Country Home Brewers, along with Golden Eagle Distributors, gifted the public with all Budweiser flavors of their special crafted beers and the Wagon Wheel Territory wants to congratulate the 10 winners which the public voted for.

The categories were:

Second place, (Jimmy Rabbit) Wild Brush Gallery and Framing

Third place, (Albert Meza) the Boutique

Honorable Mention, (Greg Zimmerman) Sugar Shack

Best Name, (Albert Meza) Candle Shop

Best Smell, (Scott Jacobson) Main Street Mercantile

Best Presentation, (Tom Piazza) Western Village

Best Color, (Greg Zimmerman) Sugar Shack

Best Buzz, (Jimmy Rabbit) Wild Brush Gallery and Framing

The Rim Country Home Brewers made this event even more successful with providing their crafted beers to be sampled and voted on at no cost to all of the guests.

I would like to thank Chili’s, Cardo’s, La Sierra, Macky’s Grill, Denny’s, The Buffalo Bar and Grill, Susie’s Bar BQ and Kate’s Chuckwagon for providing food and gift certificates cates and thank you to the hotels that discounted their rooms for this event along with the free Wagon Wheel money that was gifted so generously to the public.

The Whiting Convenience Gas Station saved us from having warm beer by selling us tons of their ice, made on location.

A very special thank you to the Hashknife Band and Dave Johnson aka Buffalo Bill for your performances for those three days and to all that worked so hard, too many to name, in making this first event so fantastic and successful. The only complaint from the hundreds of guests was that we didn’t have enough of the wonderful German food, which was served throughout the whole event.

Thank you again to all, who joined us, it makes me very proud to be a part of the business community of Payson.
