The Pine Strawberry Business Community will hosts its first Festival of Lights.
The event is part of new traditions such as a community tree lighting ceremony and the Jingle Bell Parade, which will pay tribute to members of the military as well as encouraging everyone to bring food for the local food bank supply.
Festivities include the Jingle Bell Parade, a tree lighting ceremony, with a child throwing the switch, live music with the local fiddlers, caroling, a visit from Santa, pictures with Santa and refreshments and cookies. The community tree will remain lit at night throughout the holiday season along with recorded outdoor music on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
The event is free and will start at 4 p.m. with visits to local businesses and luminaries at 5:45 p.m. The Jingle Bell Parade will start 6 p.m. at the ramada; followed by the tree lighting at 6:30 p.m. with fiddlers and caroling; Santa Claus arrives at 7:30 p.m. followed by photos, refreshments and cookies.
