Where is the patriotism at the Payson Pioneer Cemetery?

Editor:
During the 15 years we have lived in Payson, there have always been flags placed on the graves of the many veterans laid to rest at the Payson Pioneer Cemetery. This Veterans Day there were no flags placed on those graves. The large flag was not displayed at half-staff.
I called the president of the Payson Womans Club to inquire about the lack of flags and was told by Mrs. Pyle that no flags were put out due to her commitment to a personal project and because of that project they, Jinx and herself, did not have the time or the energy to put out the flags.
Our veterans deserve better. They never said they were too busy or too tired to serve their country.
Shame on the Payson Womans Club for not showing howing some patriotism on Veterans Day and for allowing their leadership to disrespect the long enduring tradition of honoring this community’s veterans.
An additional note: The flag that flies at the Payson Pioneer Cemetery 24/7 has not been lighted for the last three months.

Question of the week
Do you think new Principal Anna Van Zile has a valid idea in eliminating the Asst. Principal and replacing it with an Athletic Director position that would share her duties as Principal?
