There was a great time in the old town last night.
I think most of us who came to see Larry King’s The Legends of Country Music at the high school were a bit skeptical. However, when the lights dimmed and the curtains opened, the fun began. The band was outstanding and the songs they chose from the hits of Johnny Cash, Tammy Wynette, etc. were so expertly delivered, it could not have been any better if we had the “legends” themselves.
Hollis Pyper, the lead female vocalist, took your breath away. There isn’t a better singer/performer around, including in Nashville. Every song she sang, from a LeeAnn Rimes song to a sultry Patsy Cline hit was done brilliantly.
liantly. This lady can sing!
The only thing that is disappointing is that I can’t go see them again tonight.
The evening was a fund-raiser for the Payson Lions Club.

Question of the week
Do you think new Principal Anna Van Zile has a valid idea in eliminating the Asst. Principal and replacing it with an Athletic Director position that would share her duties as Principal?
