The Mazatzal Hotel & Casino has plans for a great party New Year’s Eve. The celebration will include music by local pianist Paul Penning during the prime rib and lobster dinner, followed by dance music by Rhythm f/x, which will include everything from funk and pop to smooth moves for that special splash on the floor.

Mazatzal Hotel & Casino are bringing Rim Country residents and visitors Magic in the Mountains for the holiday season.

To help with your gift-giving, the casino has gift certificates available at the cashiers cage. You can buy certificates in increments of $20, $25, $50 and $100 — or more by special request.

You might even consider buying tickets for the big New Year’s Eve Celebration Party for friends and family members. The cost is $65 per person and includes an evening of great food, entertainment and fun.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 31. There will be assorted cheeses, fresh fruits and a chocolate fountain available, with entertainment by pianist Paul Penning from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Dinner is served at 6 p.m. The menu will include the chef’s specialty salad; warm rolls and butter; prime rib and lobster tail; twice-baked potato; fresh vegetables; the chef’s signature dessert; and a complimentary souvenir champagne flute.

Music by Rhythm f/x starts at 8:15 p.m. and continues until 12:30 a.m. The distinctive repertoire and versatility of Rhythm f/x are nothing short of astounding when it comes to the group’s accomplished vocalists and instrumentalists. It is an energetic dance band that presents a resourceful mix of music, from animated dance groove, high-energy rock, top 40, disco and funk to smooth, sophisticated standards with amazing vocals from four band members.

Special promotions

Following the Christmas holiday, Mazatzal Hotel & Casino will have several new promotions, one specially designed for local residents. The Magical Monday Hot Seat campaign starts Dec. 28 and continues through Jan. 25. Drawings start at 6 p.m. and will be held every half-hour through 10 p.m. Players in the randomly drawn “hot seats” will win $200.

The special locals promotion also takes place on Mondays between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. Present your driver’s license with a local zip code of 85541, 85547, 85544 or 85553 and receive $10 in free play.

There will also be a Monday Refer a Friend promotion between Dec. 28 and Jan. 25. Bring in a friend on Monday, between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m., sign them up with the Players Club and get extra club points, which must be registered by 11 p.m. Monday.

Earn beautiful Trinket Boxes every Tuesday starting Dec. 15 and continuing through Jan. 12. You only need 1,000 points in slot play between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. to qualify.
