It has been awhile, but some might be surprised that Rim Country Cellular in Ponderosa Village at 309 E Highway 260 is now known as Rim Country Wireless.

In addition to a big selection of cellular phones, accessories and calling plans, customers can sample the quality of DISH Network or DirecTV on high definition televisions at the store.

With Verizon, Rim Country Wireless has a national phone plan available with unlimited messaging to any network, which includes texting, pictures and videos. The store also has a special phone and plan designed especially for senior citizens, using a larger keypad, larger screen, louder ringer and enhanced audio.

The staff gives customers one-on-one service and the expanded space makes it possible for hands-on examination of the different phone designs. Rim Country Wireless has about 20 of the 40 models of Verizon phones on display.

“If you don’t see what you want, we can order it,” said manager Adam Jonus.

With Rim Country Wireless, customers also have direct service available if something goes wrong with their phone, said owner Susan LaBonte. She said that means no shipping costs or delays.

The staff at Rim Country Wireless is proud of the advantages they offer customers when they shop in the store rather than online. Perks of shopping in the store include:

Rim Country Wireless in addition to being a Verizon wireless retailer, as well as local connection for DISH Network and DirecTV, it also has accessories for its full line of products. Broadband cards are available for $59.99 a month for laptops or desktop computers.
