Dan Groeneveld, who is co-owner of Rim Sight & Sound with Terry Oakley, is ready to sell Rim Country residents that new big screen plasma TV. He likes LG models the best, but carries several different brands. Prices have come down, so now is the time to buy.

Rim Sight & Sound can help Rim Country residents celebrate the holiday season. If you have waited and debated over whether or not to get that giant screen plasma television, now might be the time to dive in. As owners Terry Oakley and Dan Groeneveld have predicted, prices have dropped dramatically. A 60-inch unit that originally would have cost $10,000 can now be purchased for $3,000. That $3,000 50-inch unit can now go under your tree for $1,000. And Rim Sight & Sound will provide free delivery and basic installation.

Rim Sight & Sound has been in business at 214 W. Main St. in Payson for nearly five years, specializing in home and car audio and video. Stop by between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday or between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., Saturday.

The owners and staff have established a reputation among the area’s contractors and they are now doing pre-wiring for many of the custom homes being built in the Rim Country. They also work closely with individual homeowners to determine the best system for their needs and the most effective installation for the way they want to enjoy their video and audio experience. The staff of Rim Sight & Sound uses the same quality care in providing systems for vehicles and boats.

Rim Sight & Sound’s work can be seen in the Mazatzal Hotel & Casino, owned and operated by the Tonto Apache Tribe. The reputation of the company has led to large jobs outside of the Rim Country, too, including a fitness center in Cottonwood, a bar in Ahwatukee and a number of doctors’ offices in Scottsdale and a hospital in Phoenix.

The shop carries a variety of different brands of televisions, with LG being its lead seller. Other brands include Hitachi, Pioneer, Toshiba and Sharp.

The audio lines include Excelon by Kenwood and Alpine.

“We are huge fans of plasma (TV) and in our opinion LG is the best,” Groeneveld said.

Customer service is a high priority for everyone at Rim Sight & Sound.

“We will help each customer with information about any equipment they are interested in and educate them about HD, LCD and plasma televisions,” Oakley said.

“Customers will not find our level of service in any of the big chains,” he added.

Now is the time to purchase that new system for your home and arrange for its installation. If the shop has it in stock, you can get it installed the same day as purchase, if your choice needs to be ordered, it will take two days (one for delivery and one for installation). There are also lots of accessories with which to upgrade your existing audio and video equipment.

“Our job is to inform the public about the new technology and how it can enhance their lifestyle. Our motto is service, service, service,” Groeneveld said.

Additionally Rim Sight & Sound carries Smart Start Interlock Ignition devices, which are required on vehicles of some persons convicted of driving under the influence.
