After four threatening messages were discovered on the bathroom walls at Payson High School, police say they have charged a teen for one of the messages.
A 15-year-old male was arrested last week and charged with disorderly conduct, interfering with the function of a school and aggravated criminal damage.
Police believe at least one other person is responsible for the other three messages, which varied in content and who was threatened each time.
The first two messages were discovered on Sept. 10 and the following on Sept. 28 and Sept. 29.
“Due to the number of threats that have been located, in writing on bathroom walls, throughout the Payson High School campus, the investigation has been transferred to our department’s criminal investigations division,” said Payson Police Chief Don Engler.
The investigation into the other messages is ongoing. A $250 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of anyone involved in the incident. To make a report, call the hot-tips line at (928) 468-8477.

Question of the week
Do you think new Principal Anna Van Zile has a valid idea in eliminating the Asst. Principal and replacing it with an Athletic Director position that would share her duties as Principal?
