- At one point in my television producing and directing life, I had become tired of the hectic schedules and demands of that business. I decided to take a break and enter the travel business. I did not want to be a travel agent because I didn’t really have the experience to become one. A friend suggested I contact tour operators and see what they had to offer.

- “Come and get it!” her voice rang out. Each of those words seemed to meet the air amplifying and increasing in volume. She sounded the “food alarm” by hitting the metal triangle with a quick rhythmic motion, evidence of a daily practice. Everyone responded to her voice in a uniformed manner: plates in hands as they began to line up. Passing by all the delicious foods and assortment of recipes, soon each plate began to be piled up with food.
- Candlelight vigil set to mark domestic violence awareness

- The community is invited to participate in Time Out’s annual candlelight walk/vigil honoring those who have died and those who have survived the social epidemic known as domestic violence Thursday, Oct. 8. Participants will meet at the Town Hall parking lot at 5:45 p.m., where they will be given candles and signs to carry, if desired. At 6 p.m., the assembled group will line up to begin a brief walk to the Payson United Methodist Church, where a short program and refreshments will be provided. Should the walk be canceled due to inclement weather, the program will proceed at 6:30 p.m. as planned.
