Bryndee Hall, a 9-year-old fourth-grader at Payson Elementary School, rode her way to Junior All-Around Cowgirl honors at the Queen Creek Junior Rodeo held Oct. 3 and 4 at the Payson Event Center.

For Hall, the performance was her finest since she won a saddle three years ago for taking the season-long all-around pee wee (3-6 years) championship.

In winning last week, she placed both days in barrel racing, pole bending, goat tying and ribbon roping. Her best single performance might have been in Saturday’s pole bending, which she placed first.

In addition to Hall, Payson was represented by 12 other young cowboys and cowgirls.

The event also marked the junior rodeo debut of 7-year-old Jordyn Kile and 3-year-old Brinna Kae Hall.

More than 130 contestants, from 3 to 13 years of age, and from around the state competed.

The next Queen Creek Junior Rodeo Association event will be held Nov. 8 and 9 in Buckeye.
