Scott Nossek of Payson Physical Therapy recently joined eight other physical therapists in Arizona certified in sports therapy.

Nossek was certified as a clinical specialist in sports physical therapy by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS).

Nossek specializes in the identification and treatment of sport injuries.

He has worked in the Rim Country for the past 17 years and provides a full spectrum of rehabilitative programs.

In January, Payson Physical Therapy and Sports Training Center opened a brand new, 4,400 square foot facility complete with an indoor therapy pool.

“This certification reflects my enthusiasm and dedication to continue to pursue the highest level of skill with which to best serve my clients,” Nossek said.

Nossek graduated in 1988 from the University of the Pacific with a master’s degree in physical therapy.

He is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist and an adjunct professor in physical and NAU.

To become certified, Nossek had to meet requirements set by the ABPTS and obtain board certification. This included completing a rigorous written proficiency exam in a specialty area of physical therapy.
