You don’t have to head to Flagstaff or the White Mountains to see beautiful fall colors. The drive between Payson and Strawberry offers some absolutely beautiful scenery. All along the East Verde River, Pine and Fossil Creek Road are bursting with brilliant shades of yellow and red — but you’d better hurry, because many spots are starting to fade to more muted oranges and browns, so it won’t be long before the leaves drop and winter creeps in. For now though we are enjoying a few more days of sunny, relatively warm weather.
