New hairstylist at Oasis

Rachel Pruet joins three other stylists at Shear Oasis Salon, which recently opened in the Swiss Village Shops.

Pruet worked as a stylist in the Valley for 15 years before moving to Payson to be closer to family and friends and farther from the Valley’s heat.

Pruet said she knew since the age of 5 that she would be a stylist.

“I don’t know how, but I just knew,” she said.

Pruet specializes in working with men, children and people with special needs. She also offers a full range of services for women.

Financial adviser hosts event

Edward Jones financial adviser Scott Flake will host a free broadcast titled, “Cutting through the Noise: A Market Update,” at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 27 at Good Samaritan Society Majestic Rim, 310 E. Tyler Parkway.

During the program, Alan Skrainka, Edward Jones’ chief market strategist, will discuss the current state of the economy and financial markets.
