Payson police are keeping a watchful eye on Payson High School after a student discovered a message scrawled on a girls’ bathroom wall Thursday afternoon that threatened to kill several students.
Police Chief Don Engler would not confirm what the message said or who was threatened, but did say a group of students were threatened with physical harm by the scrawl, which was discovered around 2:30 p.m.
Starting Friday morning, at least two more officers will be posted at the school.
Police have interviewed several parents and students and are investigating several persons of interest.
“I wouldn’t call them suspects,” he said.
As of Friday morning, police were collecting evidence at the school.
