After reviewing surveillance tapes, two teen employees of the Rim Club were arrested for allegedly breaking into the club’s golf pro shop to steal $2,000 worth of golf balls and clubs.
Oscar Teran and Patrick Vlahovich, both 19, were arrested and charged with burglary and theft last week, said Det. Sgt. Dean Faust.
The golf club reportedly became suspicious when they found a maintenance golf cart abandoned near the edge of the Rim Club’s property near Granite Dells Road, said Sgt. John Heflin.
“The first night they did not think much of it,” Heflin said. “But by the second night, they put two and two together.”
Employees reviewed surveillance tapes and watched a suspect enter the pro shop and steal clubs, tees and bags. The suspects also reportedly took alcohol from the bar. The Rim Club suspected it was an inside job and notified police.
Detectives developed suspects based partly on the tapes. Det. Michael Mcanerny interviewed the suspects Thursday night and the two teens were arrested. All of the stolen property has been recovered.

Question of the week
Do you think new Principal Anna Van Zile has a valid idea in eliminating the Asst. Principal and replacing it with an Athletic Director position that would share her duties as Principal?
