Many editorials are critical of other people. We also need to highlight events when people do something right.
On Sunday Sept. 6 at the Portal IV housing development’s Labor Day Party in Pine, the highlight of the event was a silent auction and live auction to benefit the Pine-Strawberry Food Bank. The Portal IV Social Committee, that organized the picnic, would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to all of the businesses and individuals who donated auction items, food, purchased auction items, or put money in the cash donations jar.
Over $3,000 was collected for the Pine-Strawberry Food Bank.
Thanks to all of you for your kindness and generosity in demonstrating that neighbors helping neighbors can make a difference.
