Since taking over management a year ago of Lazy D Ranch, Kay and John Lyon have taken huge strides to clean up the park and remove not only trash but riffraff.

“Our property has so dramatically improved it is hard to believe it is the same place it was just a year ago,” John said. “A lot of hard work on our part and the result has been great tenants, no problems, no drug problems and no more police calls.”

Lazy D Ranch Apartments and RV Resort, located in Star Valley did not always have a positive reputation, but the Lyons said they have overcome that with good property management.

“We got rid of the riffraff and now are just left with good people,” he said.

Their son, a real estate developer in the Valley who owns the park, knew just who to call when he needed someone to take over the park. It took some convincing, but the Lyons decided to leave Las Vegas and head out to northern Arizona to manage the park and its 30 spaces.

Since arriving, the Lyons have worked to clean up weeds and trash and install a community picnic area.

After planting grass and installing a barbecue and picnic tables, the new area was open to residents. Before Saturday, there was no common area at which residents could hang out.

John said he is pleased with how it looks and that 25 residents showed up for the picnic areas dedication.
