After someone scrawled a threatening message in two Payson High School girls’ restrooms last week, police say they continue to interview persons of interest but have made no arrests.
On Sept. 10, a student discovered the messages around 2:30 p.m., which referred to killing a group of students. Police Chief Don Engler would not confirm what the message said or who was threatened.
As a precaution, extra officers were posted at the school on Sept. 11.
Principal Roy Sandoval said the school’s administration is cooperating fully with Payson police and the school is operating in a normal manner.
“It is our desire not to compromise the police investigation in any way or to violate the individual rights of students and their families. Hence, that is all we can release at this time,” he said.

Question of the week
Do you think new Principal Anna Van Zile has a valid idea in eliminating the Asst. Principal and replacing it with an Athletic Director position that would share her duties as Principal?
