Detention Supervisor, Officer Of The Quarter Named

Sgt. Christine Durarte and David Kell

Sheriff John R. Armer has selected Sgt. Christine Durarte and David Kell as detention supervisor and detention officer of the quarter respectively for their outstanding performance and work ethic in the Gila County Globe Central Jail.

Duarte began working with the Gila County Sheriff’s Office as a detention officer in July 2003 and was promoted to lead officer in November of 2004.

In April 2005, she was promoted to the rank of corporal and in November, she was promoted again to sergeant.

On March 18, 2008, Duarte was selected as officer of the year by the Gila County Attorney’s Office for the fourth quarter of 2007. In addition, in 2008, Duarte was promoted to the rank of administrative sergeant.

Kell began working with the Gila County Sheriff’s Office as a detention officer in November 2007 and was selected by his peers for doing an outstanding job.

Kell was named the detention officer of the quarter for both the Globe and Payson jail facilities.
