Dr. Matilda Garcia has joined Payson Pediatrics. Garcia started office hours at the medical practice April 1.
She recently moved to Payson from Queen Creek, where she operated Bethesda Pediatrics.
She will join Dr. Andrew Haug in the Payson Pediatrics medical office.
Garcia graduated medical school in 1981 from Saint Louis University in Baguio City, Philippines.
She earned her M.P.H. in 1989 from San Diego State University, shortly after immigrating to the United States with her family.
She completed her pediatric residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix in 1993 and worked for Mercy Hospital in San Diego, and was in private practice from 1993 to 1997.
In 1997, Garcia served as a faculty member for the pediatric residency program at St. Joseph’s, and later served as the program’s director until 2003.
In the summer of 2003, Garcia opened her own private practice in Chandler,
Garcia and her husband of 35 years make their home with their loving dog, Moe.
She is mother to two daughters and a grandmother.
