Effective April 1, Jeff Daniels of Christopher Creek has become the certified operator and company manager of the Tonto Village Water Company.
Jeff and his wife Dee, also own and manage two Rim Country water companies, the Christopher Creek Water Company and Gardner Water Co.
In a phone interview on Tuesday morning, Jeff said, “I will take care of any emergencies in a timely manner.”
The billing has been changed. From now on the water bill will arrive on a blue card (4x6) every month. That will save on postage and handling.
The new telephone number is (928) 478-0010.
There is also a contact person in the Village. Buck Shill of Tonto Village III will be on call for any emergencies, as well as Jeff also being on call.
Memorial for longtime resident
Pat Watson passed away on Easter Sunday. This past Sunday a memorial service was held in her honor at the First Southern Baptist Church in Payson. The church was overflowing with people who had their lives touched in some way by Pat.
The testimonials were very moving and heartwarming, and there was barely a dry eye in the church.
Pat will be missed by most of the people in Payson.
Ron Gibson of KMOG Radio spoke to the congregation about a benefit barbecue that will be held on May 1 at the Double D in Tonto Village. Roy George Haught and Duke Wilbanks have graciously volunteered to make the barbecue meat.
A possible bake sale, and silent auction has also been discussed. Ron can be reached for more information at the radio station at (928) 474-2427.
There will be more details in future columns.
Roxanne Martin of Tonto Village II, will have her big day April 19. Angela Meeker Glass, daughter of Tonto Village II residents, Rick and Theresa Meeker, also of Scottsdale, will celebrate her birthday on the same day.
On a personal note, our two oldest daughters, Joanne Harper and Eileen Porter, will celebrate their birthdays together on April 22. They were born two years and one minute apart. What a feat! I have no idea how that happened, but the doubling of birthdays, weddings and anniversaries has been happening throughout the years in the Snyder family.
Collins/Mead Ranch spring update
Boundary clearing is still under way for the southeast boundary. Clearing will begin at 9 a.m., Saturday, April 17.
The brush Dumpster will be at Collins Ranch at the corner of Brook and Park.
On Saturday, May 1, at 8 a.m., the fence needs repair at the Hellsgate fire station at Mead Ranch. Someone needs to walk off the perimeter and find out where the fence needs repair.
Everyone is reminded that you must have a valid burn permit to burn brush, leaves and needles. Contact Rick Washburn at (928) 478-4663 or (928) 978-1798 to obtain a burn permit and inspection.
For current fire restrictions, go to www.azsf.az.gov or call 877-864-6985.
