A two-mile segment of Highway 260, approximately 15 miles east of Payson, will be closed at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 21 for blasting, said the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The highway will be closed for 45 minutes so crews can safely blast and expand the highway. Eastbound traffic will be stopped at approximately milepost 265 and westbound traffic will be stopped at approximately milepost 267.
ADOT advises drivers to slow down, be alert for workers and heavy equipment and anticipate delays throughout the work zone as construction continues until fall 2011.
Information on the project is available by calling (877) 521-1118.
