I found my 1940 Ford pickup at a small air field in Imperial, Calif. It was what we call a “basket case.” It was minus the engine and transmission and the fenders were in the back of the truck with no doors. Many parts were missing but there was still hope in finding what was missing. The project took me five years to complete, although I think it will truly never totally be finished.
The motor is a 5.0 Ford Crate motor and has a C-4 Ford automatic transmission. The motor has a Holley carburetor and an Edelbrock intake manifold. The Motorsport ceramic coated headers push the exhaust through Flowmaster mufflers. The rear end is Mustang with coil over suspension. The front end is from a 1974 Mustang II with power assist disc brakes and power rack and pinion steering. It has a tilt steering column with a Grant steering wheel and the gauges are VDO electronic. The music is furnished by Pioneer with their speakers assisting.
