Our 1963 Corvair Convertible was purchased in San Diego in 1968 primarily as a second or work car, and driven daily for the next 25 or so years. In the late ’80s we had it painted original Cordovan Brown with new top and carpets, and a general mechanical and cosmetic ‘cleaning up.’ It is the Monza model with the 102 hp, 145 cu in ‘Super Turbo Air’ six cylinder engine (non turbocharged) with 4 speed transmission. It has very rare air conditioning as a factory installed option.
