The Heber-Overgaard area started out with a gorgeous weather pattern early in the week. As the week progressed, the winds returned with the cloudiness we seemingly have been coming to expect more often than not.
When looking from the outside, no one could tell that there were any construction activities occurring on the Mountain Meadows Primary School campus. But when I was escorted by the school administration to the second floor of the school, it was obvious that a few classrooms, restrooms and utility rooms were under construction.
Upon arriving at the top of the stairs through the double doors, it opened up into a very large “dome” room. Steel studs rising vertically stood off from the outer edge by 30 feet approximately 20 feet from floor to ceiling almost completely circled this large dome room.
A plumber sub-contractor was hard at work installing the water supplies, water heater and drains that will be used for the restrooms and utility. Additional heating, ventilation and air conditioning is being installed as well.
Moving to the center of the room, one can notice the amazing sound reverberation occurring in this room. The slightest whisper can be heard 20 feet away. After discussing this with the contractor, he mentioned that the installation of the new rooms on the edge of the dome room and the drop ceiling that is to be installed toward the center of the room would dampen the “echo chamber effect.”
The construction is progressing well and will be completed soon.
