Penny Navis Schmidt, certified tai chi and qigong instructor, will be teaching the Senior Circle qigong class from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 19. She will be helping participants with their form and techniques. If you have never taken this stress-releasing class, this is a great time to try it out. No need to register.
Linda Parsons will be the guest speaker at the 11 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, Aug. 25 Lunch and Learn. Parsons is the Payson Regional Medical Center’s quality management specialist. She will be speaking on patient rights and patient safety. To register, call (928) 472-9290.
The next meeting of the diabetic support group is from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., Monday, Aug. 30. John Hancock will be the leader of this support group on a regular basis. The Senior Circle Health Fair is Tuesday, Oct. 19; sign up now. Blood screenings will include cholesterol, blood sugar and PSA for men. The Health Fair is free to Senior Circle members. If you are planning to attend, please call (928) 472-9290 and secure an appointment.
Senior Circle will be having its annual “Picnic in the Park” from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 25. Pulled pork sandwiches will be served, along with all the potluck side dishes members can conjure up. The event will be held at Rumsey Park ramada 5. Sign up now by calling (928) 472-9290.
September Day Trip
The bus is filling up fast for the Sept. 29 day trip to Winslow’s LaPosada Hotel. La Posada is one of America’s treasurers. Participants will enjoy lunch and a tour by one of the “Harvey Girls.”

Interest groups are forming for trips planned to the Museum of Musical Instruments in Phoenix Oct. 25 and a trip to the Prescott Resort and Parade of Lights in December.
