Upcoming health events
Lunch and Learn with Rebecca Nissala, PRMC quality management director, is from 11 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, Sept. 8. She will be speaking about the risk of falls and their prevention.
Most falls are not age-related, however, age does tend to play a role in the type of fall. Falls are also the most common cause of injury visits to the emergency department for both younger and older adults. Falls are responsible for more open wounds, fractures and brain injuries than any other cause of injury. As a person ages, the risk of falling becomes greater with changes in vision and balance, coupled with other medical and physical limitations.
Nissala will discuss certain safeguards that should be taken to reduce the risk of falling. To register for this event, call (928) 472-9290.
