NFL Punt, Pass and Kick Competition
The NFL Punt, Pass and Kick competition, which allows boys and girls ages 6-15 to show their football skills in punting, passing and placekicking, is at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 31 at the North Multipurpose Field at Rumsey Park.
Register onsite the day of the competition or pre-register at the Payson Parks, Recreation and Tourism Office at 1000 W. Country Club Drive, or online at www.paysonparks.com.

Special Olympics meeting
Special Olympics Arizona will have an area town hall meeting at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 31 at the Payson Public Library, 328 N. McLane Road.
Speakers will be Tim Martin, chief executive officer; board of directors members and the sports program director.
Topics of discussion will include: area restructure, area assessments, staffing, fund-raising, volunteer needs and resources.
Bookstore clearance
The Library Friends of Payson Bookstore will have an End-of-Summer Clearance of hardback books through August. The books will be on sale at two for the price of one.
The Payson Public Library and the Library Friends of Payson Bookstore will no longer offer plastic grocery bags for carrying books. However, sturdy recycled tote bags with the library logo are available for only $1.50.

Thrift store sale
The Pine/Strawberry Thrift Store will offer ladies’ shirts and blouses at three for $1 Sept. 1 through Sept. 4. Shoes will be one-half off the marked prices.
The store is located at 3916 N. Highway 87 in downtown Pine and is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
