A True Hometown Event

The 126th Rodeo Parade, “Ropin’ and Ridin’” was a great success, with 56 entries and an hour and 20 minutes of entertainment. The Rodeo Parade Committee wants to thank the entries who braved the heat at the start for over an hour to provide the true hometown event that the Rodeo Parade has become.

Our featured sponsor, APS has sponsored the Rodeo Parade for many years, and again we thank them for the support. The police department and the police volunteers kept everyone safe. Thank you to our grand marshal, Col. Art Stone and Steffi Stone. Our judges, Su Connell, Casey and Priscilla O’Brien, BJ and Christine Bollier, had a major task choosing the winners of the different categories.

Co-chairs, Brian Tollefson and John Wakelin, for the second year worked for months with Judy Smith and Elaine Putnam to organize this operation. Chris Wolf, for the fourth time directed the parade, mixing the equestrians, trucks, cars, and marchers into correct order.

Thank you to all the volunteers who showed up at 6 a.m. to help us put this show on. I would try to name all of you, but I know I would leave someone out — so, thank you.

Finally, thank you to all our spectators, about 3,000 strong, who came out to see this annual event. Remember to put it on your calendar for next year.
