Local singer songwriter releases new CD

Payson singer and songwriter John Carpino will celebrate the release of his new CD “Life As We Know It” with an acoustic benefit performance this Friday, Dec. 10 at Cardo’s Italian Restaurant in Payson. Proceeds from the CD will be used to help the local food bank. Admission is free, but everyone is encouraged to bring a can of food or a non-perishable food item. The show starts at 5:30 p.m. Cardo’s is located in the Safeway Shopping Center.

This is Carpino’s fifth CD of original material.

“I’ve taken a more casual approach with this disc by including a handful of songs with a bit of humor,” said Carpino. “There’s even some local commentary for good measure. I can’t wait to introduce these songs in a live setting.

“Times are tough right now for a lot of families — by contributing to the food bank I feel we can help out in some small way.”

Carpino’s CDs have recently been sold in Europe, Canada and South America and some of his songs have received radio airplay as far away as Melbourne, Australia.

Order a copy of the new CD at www.johncarpino.com or purchase one at Payson Music Center and Wild Brush Art Gallery.
