Gila County Community College and Gila County Cooperative Extension are offering AGR 230 “Gardening and Landscape” class in Young this Spring 2011.
This class also provides the training and opportunity to become a Gila County Master Gardener. County Extension Agent and Instructor Chris Jones said, “Since teaching the class in Young for the first time in 2009, I’m excited about teaching again this spring. The Master Gardeners from Young are a valuable group of volunteers and leaders that conceived and executed the Young Cemetery Community Forest and Kiosk projects. I am proud of them and hope other residents of Pleasant Valley join this great bunch of people.”
Classes will be held at the Young Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., starting Jan. 19. The class includes guest instructors from the University of Arizona and includes hands-on activities.
The cost for the course is in accordance with standard tuition at Gila County Community College. The text is $45.
