The Senior Circle’s day trip to the Verde Valley and Sedona on Dec. 8 was a big success.

After resolving a few seating glitches with the tour company, everyone finally settled in and were headed out for an exhausting day of fun, food and friends. Circle members were treated like royalty at Cliff Castle, and the hours just flew by.

In addition to gaming and socializing, it was overheard that many of our members were dancing up a storm in the middle of the gambling floor. Geez, I hope they let us come back. Actually, the live entertainer that was performing for seniors who had gathered from all around the state that day encouraged them.

Members enjoyed a $5 buffet and $10 toward gaming, fun, the gift shop or whatever they wished.

So many members wanted to make the journey the Circle had to hire two buses. Check this edition of Senior Circle News to see what trips are planned in the near future.

Then it was on to the Las Abrigados Resort in Sedona for a beautiful Christmas lights display. There were more than 21 Christmas displays all titled with the theme Do You See What I See? The displays included a gazebo that was transformed into a reindeer carousel, an Arizona Christmas display, Alvin and the Chipmunks, MMs display and lots more. Members enjoyed walking around and voting on the displays and were also found sipping hot chocolate, margaritas or a glass of wine at the resort café. For people with difficulty walking, the resort provided a golf cart service to make sure they didn’t miss a thing. It sounds like everyone had a great time, and we’ll have to do that again.
