Christmas Services


Celebrate the Christmas season with friends and neighbors at one of the special services planned by area churches. Below is a listing of some of the services. Any church not included here, but planning a special service may contact Teresa McQuerrey via e-mail with information at to be in additional listings prior to Christmas.

Calvary Chapel, 1103 N. Beeline Hwy., Payson — Christmas Eve service, 6:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 24. There will be only one service Sunday, Dec. 26 at 10:30 a.m.

Church on Randall Place, 6338 W. Randall Place, Pine — Christmas Eve candlelight service, 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 24. A time of reverent reflection on the glory of God. Call (928) 970-4249 for more information.

Community Presbyterian Church, 800 W. Main St., Payson — Christmas Eve Service 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 24.

Crossroads Foursquare Church, 114 E. Cedar Lane, Payson — Christmas services will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 26. Join the congregation for a special service celebrating the love of God expressed through Christmas with special music provided by the band Exit.

Expedition Church, 902 W. Main, Payson — A special Christmas Eve celebration, “Love Never Fails” will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 24 in the Julia Randall Elementary gym. For more information, call (928) 978-9158.

First Baptist Church of Pine, 4039 N. Highway 87, Pine ‚ The members and friends of First Baptist Church of Pine invite their friends and neighbors to attend Christmas Eve services Friday, Dec. 24. Identical services will be held at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and include singing Christmas carols, special music, the Word of God proclaiming the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and lighting candles of faith and hope at the end of the services. Also, take time to visit the “Living Manger Scene” in front of the church.

First Church of the Nazarene, 200 E. Tyler Parkway, Payson — A special Christmas service, “Christmas at Grandma’s House” will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 19. The congregation will go caroling at the homes of member families starting at 5 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 21.

First Southern Baptist Church, 302 S. Ash St., Payson (at the corner of West Bonita St. and South Colcord) — 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 24 Christmas Eve service.

Mountain Bible Church, 302 E. Rancho Rd., Payson — Christmas Eve service, Hope Is Here, 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 24.

Mount Cross Lutheran Church, 601 E. Highway 260, Payson — Rim Country residents and visitors are invited to attend special holiday services Sunday, Dec. 19. At 8:30 a.m. there will be a special Vivaldi presentation by the musicians and Chancel Choir of Mount Cross conducted by Dr. Victoria Harris.

The second service, at 10:30 a.m., is a Celebration of God’s Gifts, with music and prayer conducted by Wes Hathaway and the Praise Team and Praise Band. The public is welcome in this celebration of Christmas.

Payson First Assembly of God Church, 1100 W. Lake Dr., Payson — Children’s Christmas program with a video by the youth, 10:30 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 19; All Church Christmas dinner, 12:30 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 19.

Rim Valley Church of God, 208 S. McLane Rd., Payson — Christmas service, 10:45 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 19.

Rock of Ages Lutheran Church, 204 W. Airport Rd., Payson — 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 24 Christmas Eve children’s program; Christmas Day service, 9 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 25.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1000 N. Easy St. (the corner of Sherwood Drive and Easy Street) — Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 7 p.m. lessons, carols and Holy Eucharist; 11 p.m., Midnight Holy Eucharist.

Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church, 507 W. Wade Lane, Payson — A Christmas Eve candlelight service will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 24. The theme will be “Silent Night! Better than a Truce.” The Christmas Day service is at 9 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 25 with Holy Communion.
