Celebrate the Christmas season with friends and neighbors at one of the special services planned by area churches. Below is a listing of some of the services.
Anglican Catholic Church of the Holy Nativity, 1414 N. Easy St. (corner of North Bradley Dr. and North Easy Street), Payson – Christmas Eve Solemn High Mass, 6:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 24. Rim Country residents and visitors are invited to join the members of Holy Nativity in welcoming the new born baby Jesus in a rich, historical and traditional way. Holy Nativity will offer this Mass at this hour to accommodate the young and the old, there will be Christmas caroling 15 minutes before the Mass at 6:15 p.m. Come and celebrate this glorious mystery of God with us. If you would like to help our food banks in the Rim Country, please bring canned or packaged goods.
Calvary Chapel, 1103 N. Beeline Hwy., Payson — Christmas Eve service, 6:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 24. There will be only one service Sunday, Dec. 26 at 10:30 a.m.
Church on Randall Place, 6338 W. Randall Place, Pine — Christmas Eve candlelight service, 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 24. A time of reverent reflection on the glory of God. Call (928) 970-4249 for more information.
Community Presbyterian Church, 800 W. Main St., Payson — Christmas Eve Service, 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 24.
Crossroads Foursquare Church, 114 E. Cedar Lane, Payson — Christmas services will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 26. Join the congregation for a special service celebrating the love of God expressed through Christmas with special music provided by the band Exit.
Expedition Church, 902 W. Main, Payson — A special Christmas Eve celebration, “Love Never Fails” will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 24 in the Julia Randall Elementary gym. For more information, call (928) 978-9158.
First Baptist Church of Pine, 4039 N. Highway 87, Pine. The members and friends of First Baptist Church of Pine invite their friends and neighbors to attend Christmas Eve services Friday, Dec. 24. Identical services will be held at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and include singing Christmas carols, special music, the Word of God proclaiming the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and lighting candles of faith and hope at the end of the services. Also, take time to visit the “Living Manger Scene” in front of the church.
First Church of the Nazarene, 200 E. Tyler Parkway, Payson — The congregation will go caroling at the homes of member families starting at 5 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 21.
First Southern Baptist Church, 302 S. Ash St., Payson (at the corner of West Bonita Street and South Colcord) — Christmas Eve service, 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 24.
Mountain Bible Church, 302 E. Rancho Rd., Payson — Christmas Eve service, Hope Is Here, 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 24.
Payson United Methodist Church, 414 N. Easy St. — Christmas Eve candlelight service, 6:30 p.m., Dec. 24. Carols, luminaries, special music and holy communion.
On Dec. 26 we will have regular services at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.
Rock of Ages Lutheran Church, 204 W. Airport Rd., Payson — Christmas Eve children’s program, 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 24; Christmas Day service, 9 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 25.
St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1000 N. Easy St. (the corner of Sherwood Drive and Easy Street) — Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 7 p.m. lessons, carols and Holy Eucharist; 11 p.m., Midnight Holy Eucharist.
Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church, 507 W. Wade Lane, Payson — A Christmas Eve candlelight service will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 24. The theme will be “Silent Night! Better than a Truce.” The Christmas Day service is at 9 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 25 with Holy Communion. New Year’s Services
First Baptist Church of Pine, 4039 N. Hwy. 87, Pine – Friends and neighbors are also invited to join the congregation of the First Baptist Church of Pine for a Watch Night program. The festivities are from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, Dec. 31.
There will be games and fellowship, the evening will close with a service of thanks to the Lord for this year and asking His blessings for the coming year. Please feel free to come eat and fellowship with us at this end of the year fellowship time.
Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church, 507 W. Wade Lane, Payson – The New Year’s Eve service is at 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 31. Holy Communion will be served. The theme of the service will be “The Lord is my Light.” For more information call Pastor Steve DeSanto, (928) 474-5440.
New Year’s Sunrise Prayer Service – Start the new year right with a New Year’s Sunrise Prayer Service at 7 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 1. Meet at the top of Houston Mesa Road, about two miles east of Beeline Highway.
Participants will hike about five minutes to an overlook of Rim Country, where there will be a prayer service for God’s blessings for the community and nation.
In case of rain or extra snow, the service will be at Uptown Espresso, 612 N. Beeline (next to the Circle K).
