Community Proves People Really Do Matter Up Here

It took a community to keep me from becoming homeless! It all started when APS decided I could no longer have service in my mom’s name after she was deceased, even though bills were being paid. Then SSI took three months of Medicare payments out of my check all at once.

Step in Sheriff Tom Buckner and the First Baptist Church. Then the anonymous ladies who showed up at my door a few days later. Dorine, Salvation Army, St Vincent de Paul, Pine/Strawberry Food Bank, Larry at Tymeless Antiques.

In one day I could’ve lost everything right after just losing my mom. But all of you volunteers, generous givers, organizations, everyday caring people cared enough about a stranger and I thank you for it. People really do matter up here!

Again, a deep, heartfelt thank you all. I have been truly blessed.
