New Year’s Eve services
First Baptist Church of Pine, 4039 N. Highway 87, Pine — Friends and neighbors are also invited to join the congregation of the First Baptist Church of Pine for a Watch Night program. The festivities are from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, Dec. 31.
There will be games and fellowship, the evening will close with a service of thanks to the Lord for this year and asking His blessings for the coming year. Please feel free to come eat and fellowship with us at this end of the year fellowship time.
Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church, 507 W. Wade Lane, Payson — The New Year’s Eve Service is at 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 31. Holy Communion will be served. The theme of the service will be “The Lord is my Light.”

This group has no dues, no elections and no couples.
The Breakfast Bunch meets at Tiny’s Restaurant at 9 a.m. every Tuesday.

New Year’s Eve party at Moose Lodge
The Moose Lodge will host a New Year’s Eve party Friday, Dec. 31.
A steak dinner will be served from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. for $12 per person or $20 per couple. Karaoke with Steve Stevens will be held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. The Moose Lodge members and their guests will ring in the New Year at 9 p.m.

Site changed for New Year’s prayer service
Due to the expected extra cold and icy hiking conditions, the Rim Country’s New Year’s Sunrise Prayer Service is being moved to Uptown Espresso, 612 N. Beeline Highway (formerly Fireside Espresso next to the Circle K).
The service begins at 7 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 1.
Brush pits closed for holidays
For the upcoming New Year’s weekend, all RPAP brush pits will be closed so that our staff and volunteers can spend the holiday weekend with their families.

Acoustic Jam
The East West Exchange, 100 N. Tonto St., Payson has a free Acoustic Jam from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. every Sunday.
Residents and visitors are invited to join in for two hours of music-making Sunday, Jan. 2.
Participants gather in a circle and take turns sharing songs. Those taking part should feel free to bring song sheets so others can follow along. Those who don’t play an instrument, but like to sing, are invited as well and the musicians will do their best to provide accompaniment. The emphasis is socializing, connecting, making music and having fun.
