January Chamber Mixer And Business Buzz Tackle Local Consumerism

January is another busy month with a chamber mixer and business buzz luncheon scheduled.

Chamber mixer

The mixer will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 26 at the Elks Lodge, 1206 N. Beeline Highway.

The theme is “Networking in 2011” and members are encouraged to bring cards and brochures.

Admission is $3 per chamber member, $5 for everyone else.

Finger foods and adult beverages will be available.

As usual, there will be great door prizes (two Sawdust Festival T-shirts) and a 50/50 drawing.

Join us for a good time, and some great networking, said chamber manager John Stanton. Call (928) 474-4515 to reserve a spot.

Business Buzz

The January Business Buzz will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 19 at East/West Exchange Bookstore, 107 Tonto St.

January’s speaker is Kimber Lanning, president of Local First Arizona, a company dedicated to “Be loyal, Buy local.” Stanton explained this motto encourages residents to keep their revenue and tax dollars in Arizona.

Local merchants will display their products at the luncheon and a basket will display Payson-made gifts.

The chamber is requesting a donation of $3 from members and $5 for community members.

Business Buzz is organized by the Rim Country Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Northern Gila County Economic Development Corporation.

To reserve a seat, call the chamber or e-mail jstanton@npgcable.com.
