Feeling blue? You could head to the counselor’s office or turn to shopping, but nothing makes a woman feel better than a good haircut.
And for Bethany Edgar, the satisfaction of giving someone a fresh new look with a few snips of her shears is priceless.
“I love making people feel better about themselves,” she said.
Edgar is the newest addition to the Studio B Paul Mitchell Salon at 706 N. Beeline Highway, in the Swiss Village Shops.
Edgar started with the salon Dec. 21 after working at the Lemon Tree and the Walmart salon.
As a young graduate, Edgar said she is excited to build up her clientele.
“I have known all the people at the salon for awhile and they are all great,” she said. “I love Paul Mitchell products and the salon is beautiful.”
Edgar was blessed to figure out at a young age what she wanted to be when she grew up. While for others it takes years of persistent effort before stumbling into something they can live with, Edgar knew at 6 that she wanted to work with hair.
“I always played with my cousins’ hair, friends and family,” she said.
One of her favorite looks is creating fun updos. An unlikely model for her work is her fiance, who has long hair. Edgar said her fiance always lets her try new looks out on him, including braids.
Edgar attended Empire Beauty School in the Valley.
