Prescribed burn in Sedona’s Oak Creek Canyon

Pending favorable weather conditions, fire specialists are planning several pile burns north of Slide Rock and near Encinoso Day Use Area in Oak Creek Canyon.
Pile burns began Tuesday, Feb. 2 as part of an on-going fuels reduction treatment in Oak Creek Canyon.
Smoke is expected to be noticeable near Slide Rock State Park and along Highway 89A during the ignition period, although smoke is expected to disperse quickly.
