Payson High School hosted the Alchesay Falcons Friday, Feb. 5 during Senior Night at Wilson Dome.
There was little cause for celebration as Alchesay handed defeats to both the Longhorns, 71-50, and the Lady Longhorns, 55-27.
“Our seniors and team in general played hard, but Alchesay was too much,” said Lady Horns coach Kelly Krieg.
Individual efforts of note were: Maddie Nossek, who had 9 points to go along with 11 rebounds; Katie Welker with 6 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists; Jordan Klabbatz, who had 5 rebounds and 2 points; and Holly West, with 6 rebounds with 4 points.
The first round of regional play for the girls is at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 9 in Blue Ridge.
“We look to have a better effort than we did last time around with them,” Krieg said.
