On the heels of a successful rebate program to encourage residents to buy locally, the Rim Country Regional Chamber of Commerce and Chapman Auto Center are teaming up again to offer another incentive to buyers.
Starting Monday, Feb. 8, anyone who purchases a vehicle from Chapman Auto, will receive a $100 check to spend at the chamber business of his or her choice.
Dubbed the “Chapman/Chamber Member Bonus,” by Chapman employee Bill Mansoor, the idea is to promote the “Be Loyal, Buy Local” philosophy, said Chamber Manager John Stanton. The program ends Feb. 28.
In December, the chamber and Chapman started the Choice Rebate Program, which offered residents a $450 rebate when they bought a car from Chapman.
When the eight-week program ended on Feb. 1, 31 cars had been purchased, putting $15,000 back into the Rim Country economy.
“The $15,000, which was returned to Rim Country buyers, represents a major commitment by Chapman Auto Center in enhancing the economy of Rim Country,” Stanton said. “Based upon national surveys, for every $100 spent locally, $68 remains in circulation in our community. The chamber wants to say a big thank you to Chapman Auto Center for their commitment to supporting Rim Country.”

Question of the week
Do you think new Principal Anna Van Zile has a valid idea in eliminating the Asst. Principal and replacing it with an Athletic Director position that would share her duties as Principal?
