Two Dogs Stolen From Shelter

All it took was a pair of bolt cutters and thieves got off with two dogs this weekend from the Humane Society of Central Arizona.

On Sunday, the Payson Police Department received a call around 7:30 a.m. from the shelter that two dogs had been stolen overnight from their kennels.

Police Chief Don Engler said it appears the thieves cut two gates locks, entered the dogs kennels and took them.

Police are following up on several leads, but do not yet have a suspect.

Reportedly, the dogs had only been at the shelter for a few days, Engler said.
