One southbound lane of the Beeline Highway at milepost 213 near Sunflower has closed due to a car crash.
Wednesday afternoon about 1:45, Department of Public Safety officers responded to the one-car crash, in which a male driver and female passenger both sustained serious injuries and were subsequently flown to trauma centers.
The male lost control of the full size pick-up truck he drove, with a 30-foot trailer behind it, and rolled over into the center median.
The southbound left lane will be closed for about a mile until about 6 p.m. while DPS officers complete their on scene investigation and the vehicle and trailer wreckage is removed.
The right lane will remain open, and northbound traffic is not restricted.
ADOT is on scene assisting with traffic control. Police are cautioning motorists traveling in the area to be aware traffic congestion.
